Hard KD, as she is known in the ring, Kavita Devi is the first Indian woman wrestler to make it to the WWE (World Wide Wrestling). Born into a family of farmers, the 36-year-old started as a weightlifter at 20, with reasonable success but little financial help. She won gold in the 2016 South Asian Games.
You may think what inspired to her get into the rings? It’s ‘The Great Khali’. It was a chance to meet Khali in 2006 arranged by her husband and brother that got ger interested in wrestling. Devi has been trained by none other her inspiration i.e. Khali and she is following the footsteps of her mentor.
She is enjoying every bit of the WWE drama, loves to show off her biceps, climb up the sides of the ring, and slap her thighs kabaddi style while wrestling. But what she doesn’t enjoy is being away from her family.
